The Problem
Access to justice is broken in India. 40+ million pending cases. Average dispute resolution takes 3–5 years. Most people can't afford lawyers or don't know how to find the right one. A legal tech startup wanted to build a marketplace that makes legal services accessible, fast, and transparent — but the complexity of legal workflows made traditional marketplace models insufficient.
The Architecture
AI Case Matching: When a user submits a dispute, the AI analyzes case type, jurisdiction, complexity, language preference, and budget — then matches them with the 3 best-suited lawyers or mediators from the platform's vetted network. Match accuracy: 89% (measured by client satisfaction + case outcome).
Document Automation: AI generates first drafts of legal documents (demand notices, agreements, filings) based on case details. Lawyers review and finalize in 30% of the time it would take to draft from scratch.
Virtual Hearing Rooms: Built-in video conferencing with legal-specific features: document sharing, real-time note-taking, recording with consent, and automated hearing scheduling.
Case Management Dashboard: Both parties and their representatives track case progress, deadlines, documents, and hearing schedules in one place. Automated reminders for upcoming deadlines.
Tech Stack: Node.js + React, PostgreSQL, OpenAI for document drafting, custom matching algorithm, WebRTC for video hearings, Razorpay for payments.
The Results
5,000+ virtual hearings conducted. Case resolution time reduced 55% compared to traditional court processes. 70% time saved on document drafting. The platform now serves litigants, lawyers, mediators, and arbitrators across 12 Indian states.
